Nick Bodis lives in Southeast Michigan and vacations "as much as possible at Gulliver Lake" in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Nick was introduced to the pastel painting in 1999 through a friend. He paints primarily landscapes, gardens, still lifes and florals. Inspiration for many of his pastel paintings comes from the beauty of Michigan's northen woods and Upper Peninsula (UP). Michigan's forests, meadows, gardens, streams, lakes, sand dunes and endless quiet areas offer innumerable subjects to paint. His techniques continue to develop through formal training, workshops and "mostly practice". Nick is member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society, the Livonia Artists Club, and the Visual Arts Association of Livonia (VAAL).
